First things first. I love this girl's name.
Tata Harper is a skincare entrepreneur who wanted to create an all natural skincare line that was completely free of synthetic ingredients and chemicals. Interestingly enough, I was introduced to this line by a fellow blogger and friend of a friend, Sarah Walker from The Curated House, at just the time in my life when I've been slowly switching over to a more natural skin regime. Well, a more natural everything regime really. [Can't wait to try your homemade deodorant, Sarah!]
For those of you who know me, I've blogged about skincare in the past and am a big believer in taking care of your skin. Being in the cosmetic industry, I get to try various brands and products however, I've been becoming more educated on a holistic skincare approach and I can't tell you the massive difference I see in my skin. The skin is our largest organ - why compromise when it comes to how we care for it and what we put on it?
The first thing I switched over was my moisuturizer. The last unnatural moisturizer I used was MAC's Oil Control Lotion because my skin had been breaking out badly due to pregnancy hormones. The lotion seemed to help the sebum production and reduce the breakouts but severely dried out my skin, leaving it feeling very tight and flaky. My dad was actually the one researching all natural skincare when he told me about the never-ending benefits of raw coconut oil (here's a little list of the ways you can use it!). Seeing as I'm a big coconut fan to begin with, I started using it on my face, neck and my growing belly and immediately saw a difference. Not only does it feel like beautiful, buttery goodness when you put it on your skin, but my skin started to look like beautiful, buttery goodness (not to mention, I have almost no stretch marks on my belly). It's been about 3 months of using coconut oil and although I want to add to my all natural regime, it's an incredible place to start. This is also the only moisturizer I will be using on my little guy when he arrives (great diaper rash fighter!).
But don't take it from me, listen to Tata on how and why she created her beautiful line and check out her website.
